Where litigation and mediation meet and transform each other

PRIVACY POLICY
THIS PRIVACY POLICY FORMS PART OF OUR TERMS OF USE. PLEASE READ IT CAREFULLY: IT SETS FORTH SOME RESPONSIBILITIES THAT YOU HAVE, AS WELL AS OUR POLICIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

PREAMBLE
Our business model calls for us to sell dispute resolution services to our customers: we have no plans to sell our customer data to other sites. We recognize that the disputes our customers bring us for resolution may involve data, documents, testimony, and other kinds of materials which are private, confidential, and sensitive. We take all reasonable precautions to ensure that the only people who have access to the data submitted to us are the persons who submitted it and the other participants in the case in issue: the adverse parties and the hearing officer.

We do not allow or participate in ex parte communications with any party to a dispute: a communication to us by any one party is immediately copied to all other case participants.

SECURITY
We take all reasonably available precautions to ensure that documents filed on our site become available to participants in the case relevant to which they are filed; and to NO OTHER PERSONS.

Our model involves the use of passwords. Please be sure to protect your password and to guard it carefully: it is your "key" to the "locked door" of your case on our site.

POLICIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
POLICIES
  1. We maintain the minimum information about you that we need to carry out our own business functions: your name and password (to allow you to log on), your mailing address (where we ship documents too bulky to post on the internet), your email address (where we send files and communications regarding your case), your credit card information (to collect payments), and the history of your transactions with us (which we use to analyze our product offerings and improve them).
  2. We do NOT transmit this information, or any part of it, to third parties, other than to the nameless, faceless providers of the various network services required to make our site function. The information we collect remains with us and we treat it as private and confidential, and as a business trade secret.
  3. In the unlikely event that some governmental agency demands all or part of the information, we will resist the demand in court; and only if a court orders us to do so will we comply with such demands.
  4. We will inform you at least ninety (90) days in advance of any change to these policies and will offer you the opportunity to opt out of our site in the event of any such change. If you do opt out, we will then delete all records relating to you from our databases and will send you notice that we have done so.
  5. We are currently based in California and abide by the various laws California has passed to regulate the collection and protection of personal information, specifically, Business & Professions Code Sec. 22575 et seqq.
YOUR PRIVACY IS IMPORTANT TO US AND WE HOPE THAT IT IS IMPORTANT TO YOU. UNLESS YOU VALUE YOUR OWN PRIVACY, YOU ARE NOT LIKELY TO VALUE THE THINGS WE OFFER YOU ON OUR WEBSITE!
